“Casa alle Vacche” is the company of the Ciappi family, located in San Gimignano. “Winegrowers have always been 100% Tuscan”, as they like to define themselves: everyone is involved in the various activities of the company, each with a specific role, for the happiness of grandfather Silvano who passed the baton to his sons Fernando and Lorenzo today flanked by the third generation Ciappi.
The very curious name (Cow house) for a winery is due to historical reasons. In the 19th century, the area where it stands today was used as a stable for cows that were used for towing wagons and working in the fields.
The name is not just a historical reference. It highlights the soul of the territory and of the family by evoking the simplicity, genuineness, effort and hard work of farmers first, winemakers later.
The company philosophy aims to rediscover the “native” vines of Tuscany, making them express their full potential. The queen is undoubtedly Vernaccia di San Gimignano produced in 3 versions and recently also sparkling.
