Varietal composition: 50% Piedirosso (locally called pear and ‘palummo) 50% Aglianico.
Denomination: DOC Costa d’Amalfi.
Alcoholic strength: 14% vol.
Vintage: 2017.
Production area: Furore and neighboring municipalities.
Nature of the soil: dolomitic-limestone rocks.
Altitude: coastal terraces 200 – 550 meters above sea level.
Training system: pergola and / or atypical rays, espalier.
Growing density: 5,000 – 7,000 vines per hectare.
Production: 60 hl/ha.
Harvest period: third decade of October, manual harvesting.
Vinification: the grapes harvested at the time of their complete ripeness, after destemming and pressing are subjected to fermentation with intense maceration lasting 30 days with subsequent malolactic fermentation and processing in new French oak barriques.
Pre-bottling maturation method and duration: 12 months in new French oak barriques.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, almost impenetrable intense ruby red color, consistent.
The olfactory spectrum opens with floral notes reminiscent of a potpourri of slightly withered red flowers, followed by an aroma of ripe wild berries ranging from blackberry, blueberry to black currant. The fruity scents are followed by elegant notes of aromatic herbs, closing with toasted coffee powder and cigar box.
On the olfactory taste examination, an important but well-polished tannin is highlighted, the sip is rich, balanced, but not excessively persistent. The quality is undoubtedly fine.
An intense wine, well made. Pleasant that meets the taste and invites a new taste. Another wine that “narrates” the values and terroir of this corner of the Amalfi Coast.
It is recommended in combination with a stewed rabbit.
