The Curicó Valley is an extraordinary Chilean heritage that reached international popularity in the 90s for its excellent wine production.
The third largest valley in the country is also known for the Harvest Festival which takes place every year in March and which maintains traditions such as grape pressing, celebrating this ancient ritual with traditional dances and varied cuisine. An event that gathers national and international tourists.
In this suggestive context, rich in history and excellence, the Curicó Valley Wine Route, located just 200 km away from the city of Santiago, includes 16 associated vineyards to promote the attractions of the Valley, which has approximately 17,140.4 hectares ideal for wine plantations.

From when the Association was born to date, what goals has it achieved and what remains to be achieved?
In 2022, our Curicó Valley Wine Route will turn twenty. In all these years of history and work, we have been able to carry out innovative projects, including the new Bubbly Wine Route, the acclaimed Trail of the race among the vineyards and three limited editions of the Curicó Valley Wine Selection event. Another of our many strengths is the transversal work with the different municipalities that make up the Province of Curicó, integrating, thanks to this, the tourist resources in the territories from the Cordillera to Mar.

Furthermore, another of our milestones and, perhaps, the most important, is undoubtedly the Curicó Harvest Festival, the largest in Chile and which brings together more than 200,000 people every year. Finally, for this end of the year, the next challenge is the launch of our new website, which will integrate the marketing of wine tourism experiences, the sale of typical local handicraft products and wines. It was necessary to take this step forward in e-commerce, giving visibility to artisans, local businesses and, of course, to our partner vineyards. It shows that we are all part of this great Curicó Valley Wine Route.

Through which services/activities do you promote the dissemination of the Valle de Curicó Wine Route?
Today, our dissemination and promotion of tourism activities and resources is mainly carried out through RRSS, where we create content and maintain permanent communication with our community. Furthermore, we promote cultural activities in the area, promote responsible wine consumption and participate in various artistic events.

We are guests of the Curicó Valley, and we are present in all the initiatives that promote local cultural, social and economic development.

What are the peculiarities of the territory and its wines?
The long winemaking tradition of the Curicó Valley and the characteristics of our people speak for themselves of the benefits and quality of the wines that are born here.

With a winemaking tradition dating back to the 19th century, the Curicó Valley is still today one of the most popular wine regions for its diversity and, by extension of the vineyards, it remains the largest in Chile. different types that give life to different types or styles of wines, favoring in particular the production of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, these are the main strains planted throughout the Curicó Valley. Wines that, from always until today, have been highly appreciated by prestigious specialists in the world of wine, but also by consumers in general.

Can you briefly describe the route and the territories of cultural and enotourist interest that it crosses?
The Curicó Valley is a vast wine-growing area. We have landscapes where fields coexist between fruit trees and vineyards. Its little treasures are the family cellars and also the large vineyards of renowned brands all over the world, all rich in history and innovation.

Furthermore, we are owners of a unique festive culture, thanks to the great bond that unites the Curicans to the wine of the territory, the way of life here is intimately linked to the production of wine and wine tourism. For this reason, as a wine tourism destination we recognize that our strengths are the landscape, the wines, the centuries-old villages, nature and people.

Just over 200 kilometers south of Santiago de Chile, is the Curicó Valley, where you can visit our cellars, learn about their processes, taste their wines and stroll through their vineyards.
