Grape variety: 100% Aglianico del Vulture.
Soil: volcanic composed of layers of volcanic rock (pozzolana), lapilli, ashes interspersed with layers of clay (stasis of the volcano).
Training system: short Guyot, Capanno Vulturino – biological system.
Vineyards: Located at the foot of Monte Vulture (an ancient extinct volcano), in the village of Barile.
Age of the vines: 50 – 70 years.
Surface: 6 ha.
Average altitude: 600 meters above sea level
Orientation: south-southeast.
Harvest: end of October – November, manual harvest
Vinification: selection of the grapes, de-stemming and with almost whole berries ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for the entire time of alcoholic fermentation (12-13 days) with continuous delestages and pumping over. Passage in barriques for malolactic fermentation.
Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels of 200 liters (specially designed for the Title) of 1st and 2nd passage and different toasting, further refinement of 12 months in the bottle.
Serving temperature: 16° – 18° C, it is advisable to open the bottle at least 30 minutes before serving.
