FATTORIA DI MAGLIANO – TUSCANY – ITALY
The farm and all the vineyards are located in a hilly landscape that from a height of about 300 meters, gently degrading, opens onto the Tyrrhenian Sea, Monte Argentario and the Island of Giglio.
The soil structure generally has a “medium texture”: a high percentage of sand, a fair amount of clay, the absence of silt and a marked richness of skeleton. They are soils that allow good water entry, perfect oxygenation and great penetration of the roots. It is these characteristics which, together with the sun and the wind coming from the sea, make it possible to obtain important wines, even from white grapes, of great structure and capable of lasting over time.
This precious structure of the land, the exposure of the vineyards, the low annual rainfall, a completely different climatic trend from inland Tuscany, favor and help the organic management of the vineyards. In fact, since 2011, the company has adopted the organic management of its vineyards; this choice, from the 2016 vintage, allows for organic certification for all wines.
