Wine: De Garage
Alcoholic strength: 14% vol.
Vintage: 2017.
Classification: Rioja (La Rioja, Spain).
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo.
Notes: wine with limited production, according to the vintages for the unique characteristics of the grapes used, as well as all the meticulous process that is followed. For this reason, it is the emblematic wine of the winery.
Red wine made from Tempranillo grapes from old vines over 60 years old, grown in their own vineyards located in the municipality of Samaniego, Rioja Alavesa.
After a manual and selective harvest, the de-stemmed grapes were selected by hand, grain by grain, using vibration and weight selection tables. Long maceration and intracellular fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak vats. Aging for 22 months in new French oak barriques.
Serving temperature: 14°-16° C.
Tasting Notes
Crystal-clear, intense ruby red color, consistent.
Sample with a wide and varied range of perfumes. It opens with scents of slightly withered flowers reminiscent of honeysuckle, wisteria and hints of lavender. An effluvium of hints of red and dark berried fruits follows. Raspberry, blueberry, currant but also dehydrated plum and a slight nuance of black cherry in alcohol. Toasted chocolate powder and toasted almonds. Notes of sweet spices close.
The sip is rich, pleasant, and important in its structure. Perfectly balanced sample in its components, with good persistence, it gives an aftertaste of licorice and noble woods. A wine of great value.
It is recommended in combination with meat-based, structured dishes of the Iberian tradition.
