Brunello di Montalcino 2018 - Fattoria dei Barbi
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Brunello di Montalcino
Variety composition: 100% Sangiovese.
Denomination: D.O.C.G..
Alcoholic strength: 13.5% vol.
Vintage: 2018.
Serving temperature: 18°C.

Tasting Notes
In the glass it is limpid, ruby red in color with a very light, consistent garnet texture.
The nose has a large, intense and fine quality bouquet of aromas. It opens with an effluvium of fruity notes reminiscent of small red and black berries, such as black cherry, blackberry and raspberry accompanied by an evident note of candied citrus fruits. The olfactory examination is completed by an interweaving of hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub.
The sip is of great elegance. The tannin is harmonious, velvety, never invasive, a real pleasure for the palate with an aftertaste of fruit and hints of sweet spices with good persistence.
A young champion, but one that lets me predict a long life. I believe that only in a few years will he be able to appreciate it in all its complexity and harmony. However, already today, a very pleasant wine.
