Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Nerento 2017 – Villa Trasqua
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Nerento
Variety composition: 100% Sangiovese.
Denomination: Chianti Classico Gran Selezione D.O.C.G..
Alcoholic strength: 14,5% vol.
Vintage: 2017.
Serving temperature: 16° – 18° C.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, with a bright ruby red color with very light garnet hints, consistent.
The intense and broad olfactory range opens with floral scents reminiscent of a pot pourri of red flowers, followed by fruity notes of hard cherry, ripening blackberry, dried plum. The olfactory bouquet is completed by intense aromas of licorice root and medicinal herbs. A delicate nuance of freshly ground black pepper closes.
The sip is rich, robust, with perfect balance. The tannic texture is good, important, but not at all intrusive, almost velvety. The finish is warm and gives a persistent aftertaste of Sanguinella orange embellished with a balsamic note.
