Collezione Privata Cosimo Varvaglione 2020 - Varvaglione 1921
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Collezione Privata Cosimo Varvaglione
Variety composition: 100% Negroamaro.
Denomination: Negroamaro del Salento I.G.P..
Alcoholic strength: 15% vol.
Vintage: 2020.
Serving temperature: 16° – 18° C.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, with a very intense red coat with large purple reflections, consistent.
On the nose it opens up in all its finesse and intensity. The traditional floral notes are followed by an effluvium of fruity notes: durone cherry, black cherry in alcohol and dried plum. The taste is completed by enveloping notes of spices: cardamom, vanilla and a hint of chocolate powder. Closing with a nuance of licorice root.
The sip is a caress for the palate, its balanced tannic texture supported by an exuberant freshness gives a sip of rare elegance. The finish is long with a decidedly balsamic aftertaste.
