La Pruina

LA PRUINA – APULIA – ITALY

The history of the company “La Pruina” began in the 80s, thanks to Pietro D’Apolito. He founded the Azienda Agricola D’Apolito, from inherited land, in the heart of Salento. Over time, Pietro purchased new land, planting new vines from native vines of the area. For years, the farm produced exclusively grapes for sale but, in 2012, the new generation decided to produce bottled wine. From here, the brand “La Pruina” was born. Today, the company is present in twenty countries. The vineyards are managed manually under organic regime. The grapes grown are Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Fiano on red soils rich in iron oxides, full of limestone and fossils resulting from the crumbling of the underlying rock. This difficult and harsh condition, to which is added the hot summer sun, gives grapes of unparalleled concentration, full of sugar and color, destined for opulent wines.
