Il Sigillo 2017 – Cantine del Notaio

Il Sigillo 2017 - Cantine del Notaio
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Il Sigillo
Variety composition: 100% Aglianico del Vulture.
Denomination: Aglianico del Vulture D.O.C..
Alcoholic strength: 14% vol.
Vintage: 2017.
Serving temperature: 16°-18° C.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, with a very intense ruby red color, consistent.
The olfactory bouquet is broad and of fine quality. The floral notes are followed by enveloping hints of ripe fruit, almost jammy, black cherry, plum and blueberry just to name the main ones. Enveloping notes of sweet tobacco follow, and fine spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. The wide range of aromas is completed by hints of licorice and dark chocolate.
In the mouth it is vigorous, enveloping, well balanced in its components. Supported by an exuberant but well-polished tannin, it offers a persistent aftertaste of ripe fruit, spices corroborated by a balsamic nuance.
